NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

This morning we depart for one of my favorite cities... New York! The Mr. surprised me with tickets a few months back. It's our birthday trip {since his birthday is January 16th and mine the 10th}! I've been there more than a few times over the last eight years for work, and once or twice just for fun. This time I am extra excited because I am going with my Mr., and his only NYC experience thus far was a school choir trip at 16. It's amazing to experience a place, like it's the first time, through someone else's eyes. 

You know that feeling when you're somewhere really amazing that you know a loved one would love... and you feel a brief moment of sadness despite how much fun you're having because you're there and that person isn't? And you just think, Oh...so-and-so would love this! I've felt that way many times over the years, especially when we were in Jackson Hole last September. There is nothing better than having that person {or people} actually there with you. This time I'll have my person.
