I first saw skeleton key escort cards on a wedding blog; although, I unfortunately can not remember which blog in order to give credit. We collected skeleton keys at flea markets and on eBay. EBay really is the best source to buy them in large lots (and then you can re-sell them)! Afterward we had the idea to ask our guests to write their "Keys to a Happy Marriage" on the back of their card. We set up a bird cage on the bar as the deposit location and added a sign. We had the best time reading these when we returned from the honeymoon! I've shared a few favorites in the last picture.

WEDDING DETAILS - NO. 1 - ESCORT CARDS
We got married July 23rd, 2011. I had the best intentions to write a blog during the course of our wedding planning. I really wanted to document all of the DIY projects we did. I thought if I helped one person who stumbled across my little blog by giving them a budget friendly way to do something... well, then great! Needless to say, our wedding projects took over and my blogging fell to the wayside. This brings us to today; as I begin my foray into blogging, I am rewinding a bit to highlight some of our wedding. Blogs inspired me so much... reading Style Me Pretty and Green Wedding Shoes became part of my daily routine. I also frequented Snippet & Ink, Once Wed and Ruffled. For someone who could not afford a wedding planner (that would be us!) it was so helpful to find inspiration and gather ideas online.
