HONEY ROSE & K

Meredith Piccin is the owner and designer behind Honey Rose & K Modage Baubles {and I'm also lucky enough to call her a friend}. 

A little snippet about how HR&K came to be - After following a career path that included visual merchandising and wardrobe consulting, Meredith realized her true passions: vintage finds and design. She combined the two to create Honey Rose & K. Meredith scours flea markets, antique stores, and thrift stores for hidden gems. She then repurposes and redesigns them to be modern pieces with a vintage + whimsical twist. Meredith also sews vintage scarves together to create these beautiful infinity scarves below.

I have a serious obsession with jewelry, vintage, and well... vintage jewelry. So Hr&K is right up my alley. Honey Rose & K is named after Meredith's Grandmother, Honey, who studied fashion design and worked for years as a window dresser in NYC.

This week I made a visit to Meredith's home to take the above photos. Can you tell I liked that blue + green tassel necklace? Meredith could tell, and she very generously gifted it to me! Thank you, M!

Meredith and her hubby {and their two beautiful children} are in the midst of a home renovation right now, but when it's done I will be sharing photos of their home and Meredith's new studio. I can't wait. You can't wait! Trust me... her home is full of wonderful finds. It is curated with that same eye that scours for vintage jewelry, and has that same mix of vintage + modern.

STYLE MUSE - LILY SCHLOSSER

Meet today's style muse - pretty lady, Lily Schlosser. Lily is originally from Denver, but came to Ohio for college at Denison... and lucky for us - she stayed! Lily is the studio and fashion manager at Lauryn Byrdy Photography {which is right next to the boutique I manage}. Not only are we neighbors at work, but we also live down the street from one another. She is the queen of cool t-shirts, a total sweetheart, and has an adorable blog called Lucky Star. Lucky Star is a personal style blog, as well as the styling and web design portfolio for Lily. The title was derived from her initials and "her passion for seeking out beauty and positivity in everyday life"... words I took from her about page, and words that are oh-so true of Lily Schlosser. LS used to work at the boutique with me, and I'm so glad her career move did not take her far away. It's so nice to still see her smiling face and soak up her positive spirit!

And speaking of Lauryn Byrdy Photography, below is a picture of the team at the opening of Lauryn's newest venture, The Nest {nestled between her studio and the boutique where I work}. The grand opening was such a success and I was so happy to be there.

Lauryn has more energy and drive than practically any gal I know. I am endlessly impressed by how much she has accomplished at her age! It makes an older gal {that would be moi} feel like I need to get my booty in gear! Seriously inspiring. I had the pleasure of taking a photography class at her studio a few weeks ago, and it sparked my creative spirit in a way nothing has in awhile. 

What a beautiful bunch of creative and uplifting women!

WHAT I WORE - ACCORDING TO MY IPHONE - NO. 5

Hello, friends. I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Ours was wonderful. The highlight was my sister coming to Columbus Saturday night. We all went to her good friend's Cinco de Mayo birthday party, which was so much fun. It was so nice to be outside, and Kate's friend {Tessa} is always the hostess with the mostess. They had the most amazing taco bar + the margarita cupcakes and sangria were to die for. I promise to post a few pics this week. There are some doozies!

I'm sorry for not posting yesterday. I'm going to ask all of you to stick with me over the next few weeks. I have something going on I hope to tell you about very soon, but my evenings after work are feeling pretty short these days. Over the next few weeks I'm going to try to post something each day, but a lot of days it might just be a recipe, an inspirational image, or a hello.
