Hello there, friends. Short and sweet post today. I have been spending my free time taking pictures for the Etsy shop - while Bailey keeps me company. I'm biased, but he is just the best... and the cutest.

BAILEY MISSED ME
Hi. Hello there! Did you miss me? What's that... you didn't notice I was gone? Well, Bailey missed me! We are spending a little quality time on the couch together this morning working through a list of things {don't judge that I obviously still have my sweats on}. Things like opening the pile of mail, paying bills {blah!}, replying to emails, and catching up on my favorite blogs. Oh, and uploading all of the pictures we took on our trip! I promise to edit them down and not bombard you with all of them.
{he even loves the remote when he's sleeping}
While I work, I'm listening to the new album by The Tallest Man On Earth, thanks to Jessica.

A RANDOM RAMBLING POST
Hi, friends. I'm sorry I have been absent since Monday. I need to be better about getting a few days ahead of myself with posts... have some stored up and ready to go. The last few days have been very busy. Monday evening the Mr. and I celebrated our anniversary with a fun dinner out, followed by a movie at home, and a cheap bottle of champagne from Trader Joe's. {In my humble opinion you can get away with cheap wine, but champagne is usually a different story; however, this champagne from Trader Joe's for $6.99 proved me wrong... Yummy!}
Yesterday I spent the entire day at Skipping Rock Farm for the Capital Style "Fall Fashion" photo shoot, with the lovely ladies of Wardrobe Therapy. The location, the model, the outfits... all perfection. I can't wait to see the finished product when the issue comes out! It was wonderful day, and it was so nice to be back at one of my favorite places {a bit about my first visit here}.
This morning Bailey had an appointment at the vet, and it was quite the traumatizing experience {he was so scared and it was so sad}. He's been sneezing really bad since last Thursday, which I realize sounds pretty minor, but the Mr. and I figured better safe than sorry. He also hasn't been to the vet in almost six years, so we figured he could use a check up! Poor Bailey... he is really bad in cars {REALLY bad} and when I tried to put him in his carrier this morning, his claws went into me and he hung on for dear life. If you guys are regular readers of my blog, you know Bailey is our baby. If you're not a pet person, this probably sounds silly, but it's the truth. He is just awesome. He is a giant cuddle muffin who sleeps in our bed and acts like a dog. We just adore him.
So... the vet wanted to do some additional tests {blood work}, and we'll know more tomorrow. Until then, I'll be crossing my fingers, saying prayers, and cuddling with my big orange fur ball as much as he'll let me.

A LITTLE ON LIFE LATELY
A picture is worth a thousand words...
so I'm going to let today's photos do the talking,
because they're worth 18,000 words.

BAILEY + THE REMOTE... THE MOVIE
This 8mm video is just a little snippet of what has become part of our nightly routine.
He makes us laugh, this cat of ours... just a little furry bundle of joy.
The Mr. ended up having the day off today, so that was a happy surprise + wonderful start to our weekend.
Happy weekend, friends!

HAPPY WEEKEND, FROM BAILEY
Bailey...
Just checking out a photo of his Mom + Dad.
This week was a long one for me. You?
I didn't sleep well, and the consecutive days of no sleep + stress was not a good one.
I am looking forward to June and what it will be bringing with it...
One thing will hopefully be a return to my normal blogging routine.
The weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend!
I am excited for a Saturday off, and much needed quality time with my Mom.
We're off to the Springfield Flea Market... the big extravaganza.
I hope you all have a happy, wonderful few days!

BAILEY + THE REMOTE
I don't remember how it began...
We were still in Chicago when it started...
but I think the love has only grown stronger.
Our cat... yep... he loves the remote.
He will come running if you pick it up...
and likes to be petted with it more than anything in the world.
It's the oddest thing.
We adore him.

German Village Coffee Shop - my favorite breakfast place in Columbus...
the "viewing window" of my museum quality sealed wedding dress {crazy!}...
a good friend in town = time spent at our favorite bar - Club 185...

a song I currently can't hear enough of...
Have a wonderful weekend.
I plan on soaking up every moment of mine.
I hope you do the same!

A LITTLE ON MY LATELY
Happy Friday, everyone!
I work tomorrow {Saturday} so Friday doesn't quite hold the same meaning this week.
I'm not complaining though... looking forward to the weekend anyway.
A picture is worth a thousand words...
Here is a little on life lately according to Instagram.
{my bird print blouse from Asos / our favorite bar / a yummy Christmas drink /
Bailey's new favorite spot thanks to this / a new scarf / dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant /
our new mantle decor... a work in progress / the Mr. hard at work /
Great-aunt Elsie's 100th birthday / arriving home from the Nutcracker / volcano rolls from Tai's... SO good / pinning away on pinterest / another cat picture / yesterday morning I had grits {country bacon} that we picked up in SC when we were on our honeymoon... I can't find the variety pack in Ohio because folks in the midwest just don't appreciate grits like they should {pretend I'm saying this in a southern accent.}}

THE GLAD GAME {CHRISTMAS EDITION}
Today I have to work, but only until 2pm...then I make the 1 hour and 30 minute-ish drive to my home-town; Straight to church for me! I hope my family saves me a seat. Hey husband, save me a seat.
This sunny Christmas Eve morning I am especially glad for the following:
{an antique ornament chandalier at our favorite antique shop}
{brown paper packages tied up with string. all loaded in my car}
{this creamer my mom told me about that I found on clearance at Target.
It's 35 calories per tablespoon and I probably added 5 tablespoons to my coffee this morning... oops}
{our precious kitty, bailey, who I teared up *petting good-bye to this morning.
yes, I did and I'm not embarrassed.}
{annual Christmas gathering with the girls last night. yummy food...}
{...good wine, and the best company ever. I love you, girls}
*petting good-bye is sort of like hugging good-bye. you can't really hug a cat.

THANKFUL, PART II
Day after Thanksgiving post...
Did you eat as much as I did? I strategically got everything on one plate so I didn't have to make myself feel bad for going back for a second plate!! But, let's not kid ourselves... that was enough food for two plates.
My sister-in-law, April, and her husband, Matt, were also in town with our beautiful niece, Zoey! We were SO excited to see them. Isn't Zoey the prettiest baby ever? I'm not biased or anything.
(and she loved Uncle Izzy)
I was so grateful for the time we got to spend with my family AND my hubby's family. We had the best day and feel oh-so-lucky. When we were visiting with my parents my Dad found this old photo and certificate. I had seen it before when I was a wee one, but it was so cool to see it again. So proud of my Papa.
(that's him on the far left)
(and here on the far right, kneeling in the front. my handsome dad.)
And as much as we enjoyed being in our hometown surrounded by family, it was wonderful to get back to our little apartment and our little man, Bailey. I hope you all had a warm and happy Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends, and are feeling as thankful as we are.
