WHISKEY MAN

I'm sort of taking the day off from a blog post because I didn't have time to write one last night.
So, I leave you with this for the day.

I found this image on pinterest this morning {I've become a bit obsessed with pinterest}
and it made me think of my father-in-law.
My harley-riding, whiskey-drinking, cool father-in-law.
One could not get more lucky with in-laws than I.
Love you, B and M.

A LOVELY DAY OFF

A lovely Friday off work spent with the Mr.
It started with a trip to Buckeye Donuts...
Husband's choice on the left + mine on the right.

A cold walk later found us at Urban Outfitters to look for Bucky the cardboard deer.
We had to order him online. I also talked about him here + here... because I really like him.
He's on sale right now for $39*
Below are a few items I added to my mental wishlist at UO.
Hat + Sweater + Fringe bag.

Time for lunch!
Second time for me, but first for the Mr. = Jury Room!
Owned by the same woman who owns some of our other fav places.
For me, a caramelized onion & grilled provolone cheese with brandy au jus dipping sauce.
French onion soup made into a sandwich! *Yummy*

A trip to the Green Lawn Cemetary followed.
Not sure how we didn't know this place existed because it was so interesting {started in1848}
The creepy moment occurred the ONE time I ventured out of the car to take a picture.
The Mr. pointed it out when I was back in the car...
the tombstone I had just snapped a pic of had our last name on it.
*heebie jeebies*

The amazing, brought-tears-to-my-eyes moment happened when we spotted a buck + doe.
We stalked them for at least 15 minutes.
Slowing driving around and following them while we took loads of photos.
So beautiful.

The Mr. and I are buying a nice camera for Christmas instead of exchanging gifts!
Our iPhones are great, but sometimes you just need something better.
This was one of those times.

It just dawned on me that we went to Urban Outfitters to buy Bucky the deer,
and then we saw real deer that very day....
Coincidence you say? I think not.

I had a dream that I was finished with my Christmas shopping. That's not true, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did. I think I'm a little too obsessed with finding the "perfect" gift for each person. CURRENTLY COVETING {GIFTS FOR THE MR.}

This Monday I decided to morph Weekly Wishlist into a gift guide of sorts.  With the holiday just around the corner, I just didn't feel right posting items from my wishlist {last Monday here}! Today I'm sharing my thoughts for the man in your life,  and I'm excited to share ideas for the mrs. tomorrow!

The husband and I played a little catch up with our Christmas shopping this weekend. We also watched "My Idiot Brother" {which I recommend}, had dinner at one of our favorite places {Club 185} with our friends C and E {C photographed our wedding},  AND had brunch with our friends C and A {where I hardly made a dent in three of the largest pancakes I've ever seen}. It was so nice to catch up with dear friends. I've been such a hermit lately, so I needed it!

1. because he likes to learn about new things, book $32.95 / 2. for the music lover, Black Keys 11.99 /
3. because he likes to take pictures, Diana camera $65 / 4. for my mr. to walk @ campus, boots $130 /
5. for the trendy techie, Pendleton iPad case, $65 / 6. so he's not late for dinner, watch $130 /
7. my mr's suggestion, dresser valet {I found his at T.J.Maxx... glad to know he likes it!}

SECOND CHANCE

Last Sunday afternoon I decided to get off my bootie and get out of the house for a bit. I went to Second Chance in Grandview. Second Chance is my favorite consignment shop. They just expanded by taking over the space next door, and turned it into the designer section. Mary, the owner, is fabulous and everyone who works there is equally as nice. I have been brutally going through my closet lately, so I had mucho dinero to pick up from selling some clothes. My goal was to find a winter coat. That didn't happen, but I did find this great vintage silk blouse. It snaps across like a wrap top, but I wore it open as a jacket. I didn't realize how much these boots have taken a beating until this picture... I think these babies need to take a trip to the shoe doctor.

Also, I was doubting my spelling of the word, "bootie" above, so I checked myself. Just so you don't doubt me...
Booty: N, pirate treasure, loot, etc.
Bootie: N, footwear for infants, women's ankle boots, slang for butt

vintage blouse: Second Chance / tee: Fluxus / jeans: Gap / boots: Dolce Vita / vintage belt / necklace: UO
All bundled up to have a quick dinner out with the Mr...
coat: Shin Choi / "texting" gloves: White + Warren / scarf: Urban Outfitters / nails: Chanel "Kaleidoscope"
